With a 40-year legacy and a strong, competitive position both in Türkiye and in nearly 100 countries through its broad export network, Borsan Cable has held the groundbreaking ceremony for its new Integrated Production Facilities, which will be built with an investment of approximately USD 180 million and will become one of the most modern and advanced industrial complexes in Türkiye. The facility, located in Samsun’s New Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ) in close proximity to Samsun Port, the airport, the national highway, and the Samsun Logistics Center’s railway loading and unloading terminal, will span 150,000 square meters. It will include approximately 120,000 square meters of enclosed production space and 8,000 square meters dedicated to the administrative building and R&D area. Once operational in three years, Borsan’s production capacity is projected to increase by approximately 150%. The facility will also create 400 new jobs, contributing significantly to both regional and national economic development.

Ranked among Türkiye’s top 400 industrial enterprises and top 400 exporters, Borsan Cable is continuing its global brand journey by expanding its production and sales capacity by 150% through this new investment. With its strong domestic position and value-added exports to nearly 100 countries across four continents, Borsan aims to further solidify its international presence.

With a total investment of USD 180 million, the new facility will be built on 150,000 square meters in Samsun’s New OIZ, featuring 120,000 square meters of enclosed production area and 8,000 square meters dedicated to the management and R&D units. Strategically positioned just 16 km from Samsun Port, 6 km from the airport, 1 km from the highway, and 2 km from the railway terminal at the logistics center, the location offers a major supply chain advantage. The facility, designed under the Green OIZ concept, will operate with environmentally friendly production processes and is expected to be fully operational within three years.

The groundbreaking ceremony was hosted by Borsan Group Chairman Adnan Ölmez, with the attendance of Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı, Samsun Metropolitan Mayor Halit Doğan, Borsan Cable CEO Arbek Akay, Borsan Group partners and executives, regional leaders, and Borsan stakeholders.

USD 180 Million Investment to Boost Capacity by 150% and Raise Turnover to USD 450 Million

400 New Jobs, Majority Women
Currently employing 450 people, Ölmez stated: “With our 150% capacity increase, our new facility will not only contribute to national economic growth but also boost the local economy in Samsun. Once operational, we will create 400 new jobs, with a strong emphasis on employing women—reflecting our commitment to supporting women's participation in the workforce.”

Sustainability: A Core Focus at Borsan Cable

“Our Integrated Production Facility is designed in line with the Green OIZ concept, using environmentally responsible production processes. Industrial waste will be treated without harming nature through Chemical and Biological Treatment Plants. In addition to solar energy systems, the facility will use rainwater for its internal water needs.”

Strong R&D Capacity and Defense Industry Partnerships
Ölmez also highlighted the company’s R&D strength: “Borsan Cable currently houses a Ministry of Industry and Technology-certified R&D Center, staffed by a team of 56 experts over a 1,000-square-meter area. The center holds 13 patents, nearly 100 national and international industrial design registrations, and 15 academic publications. In addition to its strong domestic and international market presence, Borsan Cable is the only certified supplier in its field with a ‘Top-Tier EYDEP Certificate’ from the defense industry. It also works under confidentiality agreements on joint projects with leading defense companies such as TUSAŞ, HAVELSAN, and ROKETSAN. In our new Integrated Production Facilities, the R&D area will expand to 8,000 square meters along with the Administrative Building, and our expert team will grow significantly.”
