A 70% Compound Annual Growth Rate Over the Last Five Years
Borsan CEO Arbek Akay highlighted that the company’s compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for revenue over the last five years exceeded 70%. "We aim to sustain this stable performance with increasing momentum, maximizing the value we provide to our stakeholders, including our customers, employees, business partners, local communities, and the national economy, as a global brand," Akay stated.
He added, "The robust steps we’ve taken on Borsan’s journey to becoming a global brand reflect in our consistent achievements. Despite the challenges posed by natural disasters and regional conflicts in 2023, we recorded approximately 75% growth in total revenue and 54% growth in export revenues. Additionally, we take pride in being accepted into the TURQUALITY® Program, considered the ‘Champions League’ of Turkish brands. More than half of the products we manufacture, adhering to international quality standards, are allocated for export. With a strong portfolio of over 350 international clients, Borsan delivers value-added exports across nearly 100 countries on four continents and is a market leader in over 10 countries. In the coming period, we aim to accelerate export growth, strengthen our presence in global markets, and increase the number of countries where we hold market leadership, while continuing our growth in the Turkish market."
Targeting to Double Production Capacity by 2028
Borsan CEO Akay stated that the company invested 300 million TL in green energy initiatives in 2023. "Our most significant investment in 2023 focused on sustainability, a core element of our business strategy, as part of our transition to 100% renewable energy. Beyond addressing energy costs, we prioritize achieving zero carbon emissions by emphasizing renewable energy and energy efficiency. We completed and operationalized a 3.2-megawatt rooftop solar power plant (GES) at our factory in 2023. Furthermore, our 10-megawatt solar field in Çorum will become operational within days. By the end of 2024, our 40th anniversary, we will meet 100% of our electricity consumption through renewable energy, reaching a total installed capacity of 13.2 megawatts," Akay noted.
Focusing on capacity expansion in 2024, Akay shared, "In 2024, we invested in 150 acres of strategic land in the new Organized Industrial Zone (OSB) in Samsun. Infrastructure work at the OSB began in 2024, and we plan to complete the construction of new production facilities and establish production lines by 2026 and 2027. By 2028, we aim to double our cable production capacity, incorporating additional value-added products into our portfolio."
