Aiming to become a market leader with its modern technology and over 40 years of Borsan expertise, Borled Lighting has taken a major step forward in enhancing its contribution to the national economy. Through a new partnership with China-based Lixin Lighting, Borled will boost efficiency, achieve a more competitive pricing structure without compromising on quality, and significantly expand its product range. Backed by a joint investment of approximately USD 25 million focusing on technology transfer, R&D, and capacity expansion, Borled plans to grow more than threefold within three years and reach an annual turnover of USD 35 million. Another key goal for the company is to strengthen the perception of the "Made in Türkiye" label, particularly in export markets.

With a foundation built on modern LED technology and more than four decades of Borsan expertise, Borled Lighting has formed a strategic partnership with China-based Lixin Lighting. As part of this agreement, 10% of Borled Lighting shares were transferred to Lixin Lighting for USD 1.5 million.

The partnership signing ceremony took place on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the Borled Factory in Samsun. The ceremony was attended by Borsan Group Chairman Adnan Ölmez and Lixin Lighting Chairman Jian Liu, who signed the agreement, along with Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı, Samsun Metropolitan Mayor Halit Doğan, Borsan Cable Board Member Joseph Azaar, Borsan CEO Arbek Akay, Borsan Group partners, senior executives, and other stakeholders.

“We Will Elevate the Borled Brand to a Prominent Position in Turkish and Global Markets”
Speaking at the ceremony, Borsan Group Chairman Adnan Ölmez stated that Borled Lighting is taking significant steps toward industry leadership:“Until recently, Borled operated under Borsan Cable. As of 2025, it has become an independent legal entity under Borsan Group as Borled Lighting. Since 2017, leveraging modern LED technology and Borsan's 40+ years of experience, the Borled brand has demonstrated strong growth and built a reputation for high quality in both the Turkish market and our export markets—especially in the Middle East, Africa, the Turkic Republics, and Europe.

He continued: “With this new structure and the support of the Borsan brand’s strong position in many countries, Borled Lighting is progressing steadily toward its goals. Our new partner, Lixin Lighting, is known for its active exports to the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, as well as its capabilities in R&D, custom design, and product assembly. With Lixin’s deep expertise in electronics and LED technologies, we aim to elevate the Borled brand to an even more significant position in both domestic and global markets. This partnership will allow us to increase efficiency, reach competitive pricing, and expand our product portfolio—without compromising quality.”

USD 25 Million Investment to Triple Size and Reach USD 35 Million Turnover in Three Years
Highlighting Borled Lighting’s ambition to deepen its contribution to the national economy, Ölmez said: “Our joint investments with Lixin Lighting will continue. Over the next three years, we plan to invest around USD 25 million, focusing on technology transfer, R&D, and capacity expansion. Through these efforts, we aim to grow more than threefold and achieve an annual turnover of USD 35 million within three years.”

100 New Jobs, Majority Female Workforce
Emphasizing the scale and impact of the investment, Ölmez continued: “In the first phase, we will invest in machinery and working capital. During 2025, we will make machine and mold investments for high-IP-value LED fixtures and for NEON lighting systems, which are currently not manufactured in Türkiye. Further investments will focus on NEON lighting production, component assembly, metal stamping, and paint machinery. With our strength in technology transfer, R&D, and production capacity, we plan to triple our turnover in three years while also creating 100 new jobs—primarily for women. As part of our principle of positive discrimination in favor of women in employment, we will continue to prioritize hiring female workers.”

Advancing the “Made in Türkiye” Perception with Next-Gen LED Products

Adnan Ölmez also noted: “China is the global innovation hub for LED and electronics manufacturing. Chinese firms lead the development and global production of LED lighting technologies. However, new-generation, China-developed LED designs and technologies often enter markets like Türkiye with a time lag.”

“Our goal through this partnership with Lixin Lighting is to offer next-generation products and designs to the Turkish and global markets simultaneously with China—under the ‘Made in Türkiye’ label. This alignment will give us a strong competitive edge through innovation. The growth of Borled Lighting in export markets will also contribute positively to the perception of Turkish-made products.

R&D Excellence from Borsan Cable
Ölmez also touched on the R&D strength of Borsan Cable, another company within the Borsan Group: “Borsan Cable operates a Ministry of Industry and Technology-certified R&D Center staffed by 56 experts in a 1,000-square-meter space. The center holds 13 patents, nearly 100 national and international industrial design registrations, and 15 scientific publications. In addition to its strong market position, Borsan Cable is the only certified supplier in its field with a Top-Tier EYDEP Certificate issued by the defense industry. It also collaborates confidentially on joint projects with defense industry leaders such as TUSAŞ, HAVELSAN, and ROKETSAN.”
