2023: A Solid Start
The year 2023 marked a pivotal period in which we redefined and deepened our sustainability strategies. During this transformative process, our Sustainability Committee elevated strategic priorities to the Board of Directors, enabling critical decision-making at the highest level. As part of our efforts to align with national and international reporting standards, we restructured all reporting processes to meet current requirements.
Simultaneously, we conducted a comprehensive analysis involving the participation of all internal and external stakeholders to identify our sustainability priorities across the company. This analysis clarified the critical issues we need to focus on and helped us define our strategic goals. To measure and manage progress toward these goals, we established key performance indicators (KPIs) and implemented monitoring mechanisms to ensure regular oversight.
100% Renewable Energy Transition
One of our most significant achievements in 2023 was our transition to 100% renewable energy, a core focus of our sustainability initiatives. Beyond providing a direct solution to energy costs, we prioritized 100% renewable energy and energy efficiency as critical components of our commitment to achieving a net zero-carbon footprint.
Our green energy investments in 2023 totaled approximately 10 million USD;
• We completed and initiated production at our 3.2 MW rooftop solar power plant, and
• Additionally, our 10 MW solar field in Çorum began operations in 2024.
With these investments, by 2024, our 40th anniversary, we not only achieved 100% renewable energy consumption but also reached an installed capacity of 13.2 MW, cementing our role as a pioneer in sustainable energy solutions and corporate responsibility.
Stakeholder Engagement and Sustainability Materiality
At the heart of our sustainability approach lies a commitment to robust stakeholder engagement and an inclusive management philosophy. We foster a culture of collaboration across a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers, and the wider community. Stakeholder insights are evaluated in alignment with our strategic goals, supported by proactive and transparent communication.
Our sustainability journey is driven by our ability to create innovative solutions and seamlessly integrate them into our business processes. Data-driven decision-making reinforces our strategies, while effective use of technology enhances process efficiency. Innovation and digitalization are central to our sustainability priorities, supporting our commitment to sustainable development.
To identify our key material topics, we gathered feedback across 23 main themes, involving extensive participation from both internal and external stakeholders. This included employees, customers, suppliers, university-industry collaborations, media organizations, insurance companies, and other critical partners. Over 6-8 weeks, we collected insights through online surveys from 123 internal stakeholders and 40 external organizations. This comprehensive effort not only aligned our sustainability priorities with stakeholder insights but also laid the groundwork for a resilient and forward-looking sustainability strategy.
